InnovaTrain AG is a specialised Swiss company focused on the development of practical systems for handling ISO containers and swap bodies. Our aim is to structurally simplify existing logistics processes, reduce dependencies on external infrastructure, and enable economically measurable efficiency gains.
Our focus is on practicality, efficiency, safety, and reliability. We don't develop theoretical concepts, but rather robust, certified systems proven in everyday industrial use.
With our Container Docking Station and Container Mover, we offer solutions for parking, picking up, swapping, and loading containers independently of cranes – all operated by a single person.

Company history
Founding – ContainerMover
InnovaTrain was founded in 2010 with the aim of developing and marketing an economically attractive method for transferring containers between trains and lorries. The background to this was the desire for greater sustainability through shifting transport to rail. In collaboration with external partners, the ContainerMover was developed for rapid horizontal transfer without the need for a crane or reachstacker. The Mover has been successfully in use in Switzerland since 2012 for a major retail company, and also in Germany since 2018.
Spin-off – Container Docking Station
The need to be able to park containers more quickly and efficiently near the train arose early on with the shuttle transport. Although these were swap bodies with fold-out legs at the time, the Container Docking Station developed by InnovaTrain brought a significant time saving, as drivers no longer have to fold the supports in or out. From 2018 onwards, InnovaTrain focused on the development and certification of docking stations for containers with ISO-standardised corner fittings. The company achieved a breakthrough with the delivery of docking stations for a nationwide hydrogen logistics operation in Switzerland. The CDS-400 series is now the main product.
